Kofi Whitney Pursues PhD at Iowa State University

Kofi is from Columbia, S.C., where he completed his B.S. at Benedict College in computer science, graduating with honors. While at Benedict Kofi was a recipient of the CSEM, SCAMP and other Scholarships. Kofi’s interest in interface design is bolstered by his research and industry experiences, some of which include Blue Cross Blue Shield of S.C., Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Intel Corporation. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Human Computer Interaction at Iowa State University. An avid system builder and gamer, Kofi is also interested in creating more intuitive desktop computers through peripheral and software advancement. He is a GEM scholar at Iowa State and is working under the direction of Dr. Les Miller.
